Position Overview:
The Interior Designer III will receive minimal supervision by interior designers/architects. Leads in the design and development of projects, design presentation material production, and development of construction documents. Must be able to demonstrate advanced knowledge in BIM/Revit and drafting. Must have a willingness to expand knowledge in architecture, architectural design techniques/technology, and application of interior design principles.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Professional degree in Interior Design, or related discipline, from an accredited university.
- Experience: Requires four to five (4-5) years’ experience in design, production and coordination of documents in all phases of architectural/interior design practice.
- Software: Microsoft Office Suite Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.), AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUP, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc…)
- License: Licensed or actively pursuing NCIDQ and/or CID licensure.
Expectations:
- Personable and presentable with excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and ability to engage in informed conversation with clients.
- Strong design and graphic presentation skills with ability to produce high quality design concepts.
- Lead and maintain quality control/design intent in 5+ projects during all phases of design and responsible for production schedule and technical aspects.
- Ability to delegate assignments to support staff and always be respectful.
- Assist in development of project marketing interview/proposal materials.
- Attending site visits to better understand existing project conditions.
- Knowledgeable with current building codes, specifications, and consultation coordination.
- Knowledgeable with agency review process; DSA and HCAI procedures helpful.
- Knowledgeable in sustainable design techniques/Green Building Code.
- Communicates with clients, consultants, contractors, construction department and administrative staff to help resolve field/constructability issues and requests for additional information.
- Ability to lead and assist in the documentation of project design with engaging presentations utilizing tools such as BIM/Revit modeling.
- Ability to prepare and review contract documents, including elevations, ceiling plans, millwork details, furniture layouts, finish plans and schedules.
- Ability to effectively lead in schematic design and design development of projects including client presentations, programming, interior concepts, and space planning analysis based on client vision, desire and overall architectural context.
- Ability to use creativity and original thinking in design issues with a keen eye for detail and exemplary taste in design and architecture.
- Ability to effectively collaborate and participate in office design charettes, team design critiques and pin-ups.
- Ability to use advanced design communication skills via sketching and hand drawings.
- Ability to research/select materials and finishes and provide informed VE measures as needed based on area calculations.
- Ability to participate in the development of 3D modeling of projects. Prepare various design communication and presentation materials including sketches, rendered 2D & 3D drawings such as floor plans and elevations, rendered perspectives, slide shows and material selection boards/binders.
- Support the construction administration phase of a project by assisting in review of submittals, shop drawings, substitution requests, responses to RFI’s, and preparation of instruction bulletins for changes.

Salary: $82,000.00 – $88,000.00 per year
